Dashboard#

What the Dashboard Is#

The Dashboard is the landing page of SilentBolt. It provides a real-time, at-a-glance view of your organization's security posture across all onboarded domains. Rather than requiring you to navigate through individual scans, the Dashboard aggregates the most critical data points into a single view.

Why It Exists#

Security teams need a daily command center — a single page that answers: Are we getting better, worse, or staying the same? The Dashboard surfaces trends, highlights urgent issues, and enables fast decisions about where to focus effort next.

Who Uses It#

  • Security analysts — to check for new critical findings each morning and prioritize daily work.
  • Team leads — to monitor overall posture, track trend direction, and identify targets that need attention.
  • Executives (via screen share / demos) — to understand organizational risk at a glance.
  • MSSP operators — to quickly check client health across tenants.

Main Sections#

Risk Snapshot#

A summary card showing the current aggregate risk posture.

  • Total findings broken down by severity: critical, high, medium, low, info.
  • Open findings count — how many issues remain untriaged or unresolved.
  • Risk trend indicator — up/down/stable compared to the previous period.

Recent Scans#

A table or list of the most recent scan executions.

  • Domain name, scan status, completion time, finding counts.
  • Direct links to scan detail pages.
  • Highlights scans that failed or produced critical findings.

A time-series chart showing how findings (by severity) have changed over recent scans.

  • X-axis: time or scan sequence.
  • Y-axis: finding counts.
  • Separate lines or stacked areas for each severity level.
  • Useful for tracking remediation progress and detecting regressions.

Top Exposed Targets#

A ranked list of domains with the highest risk exposure.

  • Domain name, total findings, critical/high counts.
  • Links to the domain's scan history and findings.
  • Helps prioritize which targets need immediate attention.

Critical Alerts#

A notification-style feed showing the most recent high-priority events.

  • New critical or high findings discovered.
  • Scans that failed unexpectedly.
  • Findings that have regressed (previously resolved, now reappeared).
  • Accepted risk expirations approaching.

Activity Timeline#

A chronological feed of platform activity for the current company.

  • Scans started, completed, or failed.
  • Findings created or escalated.
  • Governance status changes.
  • Orchestration sessions launched.
  • Integration events dispatched.

How to Use the Dashboard#

Daily Review (Analyst)#

  1. Check the Critical Alerts section for anything requiring immediate action.
  2. Review the Risk Snapshot to understand current exposure.
  3. Open any Recent Scans that completed overnight and review their findings.
  4. Click through Top Exposed Targets to prioritize deep-dive triage.

Weekly Review (Team Lead)#

  1. Examine the Findings Trends chart to see if the overall trend is improving.
  2. Identify any targets in Top Exposed Targets that have been persistently high-risk.
  3. Review the Activity Timeline for team member activity — governance transitions, reports exported.
  4. Decide whether to schedule additional scans or escalate specific findings.

Common Actions from the Dashboard#

Action Where
Start a new scan Click a domain in Top Exposed Targets → Scan
View finding details Click a finding in Critical Alerts
Open a recent scan result Click a scan row in Recent Scans
Navigate to full findings list Use top navigation → Findings

Best Practices#

  • Check the Dashboard at the start of every workday. It's designed to surface what changed overnight.
  • Use Findings Trends to measure remediation velocity. If the trend is flat or rising, your team may be under-resourced or under-triaging.
  • Pay attention to regressions in Critical Alerts. A resolved finding that reappears signals a deployment or infrastructure change that reverted a fix.
  • Use Top Exposed Targets to drive sprint planning. Focus scans and remediation on the domains with the highest exposure.

Edge Cases and Warnings#

  • The Dashboard data is only as current as your most recent scans. If scans haven't run recently, the snapshot may be stale.
  • If no scans have been completed yet, the Dashboard will appear empty with guidance to onboard your first target.
  • Findings Trends require at least two completed scans for the same domain to show meaningful data.
  • The Activity Timeline is scoped to your company. You will not see activity from other tenants.
